Virtus Favicon

We listen with care, analyse with precision, and act with impact. Our strength lies not only in what we know, but in how we put that knowledge into practice.

From insight, we move to action. From expertise, we drive change. That is what we stand for. A guide. A partner. We go beyond consultancy alone.

How can we support you?

At Virtus Consulting, strategy is not merely a vision on paper—it’s a roadmap to tangible results. Rooted in years of frontline experience in academic medicine, hospital leadership, and healthcare innovation, the consultancy defines strategies that are both ambitious and actionable. With a clear focus on evidence-based decision-making, Virtus guides healthcare institutions from insight to execution. Whether advising on hospital mergers, digital health ecosystems, or cancer prevention models, the team ensures strategic alignment with local realities, policy frameworks, and clinical needs. Implementation is hands-on, collaborative, and adapted to the pace and complexity of each organisation.

Virtus Consulting places data and process at the heart of healthcare transformation. Through structured analysis, process mapping, and the integration of digital tools, Virtus identifies inefficiencies, risks, and untapped opportunities. Drawing from projects such as the Antwerp Health Harbour and the development of data-driven prevention models, Virtus showcases how meaningful health data—combined across institutions—can lead to smarter care pathways and proactive interventions. Whether streamlining oncology workflows or developing scalable screening solutions, the consultancy ensures that every process is evidence-informed and future-ready.

Virtus builds organisations around people, not just policies. With deep roots in academic hospitals, medical education, and multidisciplinary teams, the consultancy understands the realities of healthcare professionals at all levels. It works closely with boards, managers, clinicians, and frontline staff to foster cultures of trust, open communication, and shared responsibility. Emphasis is placed on leadership development, structural collaboration, and stakeholder engagement—whether guiding a board merger, supporting a hospital transformation, or coaching innovation teams within complex care environments. People are not just part of the strategy—they are the strategy.

Sharp, analytical thinking is a defining strength of Virtus Consulting. Each engagement begins with listening carefully, observing closely, and diagnosing the organisation’s true needs. Rooted in the medical and scientific background of its founder, Virtus employs an investigative approach: combining qualitative insights with hard data to generate actionable recommendations. From health system redesign to strategic planning in oncology, every analysis is tailored, substantiated, and geared toward sustainable impact. Clients receive more than advice—they gain clarity, confidence, and the tools to act with precision.

Consultancy and Advisory role for Pharmaceutical and Medtech companies

Interaction between the medical world and pharmaceutical, Medtech companies is important to make health care progress. I was not only involved in the early phase clinical trials of important drugs in GastroIntestinal Oncology, but served also in an independent way as a consultant for different national and international companies. Moreover, I was one of the pioneers to create a digital platform to support cancer patients in a transmural setting together with Remecare. Today, I serve as Chair of the one-Tier board at Qurin. A company which aims to develop cancer screening tests in urine.

Creation of an inter-Hospital network, NETwerk

Neuroendocrine tumours (NET) are rare cancers. Expertise in the management of these tumours is the key to success. Under the umbrella of the European organisation of NET, we created a clinical, scientific and supportive network of expertise. The NETwerk combines a common vision, expertise and nearby care for the patients. It gives also an international dimension to NETwerk.

Creation of ‘Antwerp Health Harbour’

Universiteit Antwerpen

Today, structured data, analysis of data and artificial intelligence are important pillars in multiple (industrial) sectors. Also in health care, this mixture of data management will form the base for future (re)evolution. Together with several stakeholders in the Antwerp region, we created a data platform to combine information from different sources to map ‘health problems’ in the region. This collaboration was called Antwerp Health Harbour and the first case focus on the health status of children in the Antwerp region.

Consultancy And Advisory Role For Pharmaceutical

Vision on a Health Prevention Center

In many domains of health care, we made enormous progress in (acute and chronic) diseases. New surgical techniques, innovative medication and increasing attention for supportive care formed the base for this progress. At different levels in our society there is increasing belief that besides cure, prevention of health is as important. We developed a model of evidence-based and data driven prevention linked to the curative care (if necessary).

Medical Data And Artificial Intelligence

Vision on a Data Innovation Center within healthcare

Care for patients is the driven force for health care workers. Taking care for patients is in the DNA of physicians, nurses,… We need to integrate innovation in this DNA. Every idea can be a future step in better/different care of our patients. It also gives the possibility for entrepreneurship for individuals. We developed a plan from idea, convincing towards implementation.
